(UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE)

CREWKERNE AND DISTRICT UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE,

 CREWKERNE,  SOMERSET,  ENGLAND.
Crewkerne is a small market town in the South-west of England. It is the home of the Crewkerne and district branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A).

We are now over 10 years old and have developed as an active U3A with many involved members enjoying social contact and following a wide range of interests. Our regular monthly meetings afford chances to catch up on local U3A developments, to explore new group interests be they of a social nature or of a more academic bent.  Interesting speakers are regularly featured at monthly meetings.  The group leaders are always ready to welcome new members and new interests to pursue are emerging all the time. The main emphasis of our activities is enjoyment, occasional outings etc., or pursuing a hobby with others who are of similar age and interest. Our members exhibit lively interest, enquiring minds and a considerable amount of individuality.

The monthly meeting mentioned is generally on the  first Monday of each month at the Methodist church, South Street at 2 p.m. We suggest that you contact us for further information which is always readily available.  Limited parking is available at the church but South Street car park is just across the road.

There are no deadlines, examinations or any of the restrictions which normally accompany the word 'university'.  Crewkerne and District U3A is self- managed, self-funded and affords opportunities for (mainly) daytime activities.  It is a means by which people can either revive - or start anew - interests, enjoyably and at a leisurely pace.  The annual subscription is modest and the benefits of membership are considerable.

Contact for Crewkerne U3A is Anthea on 01460 74786

A magazine containing contributions by members is produced, edited and printed by Leslye Stansfield quarterly. Leslye
